West-Oak Middle School is located in the Golden Corner of South Carolina at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  We have three feeder elementary schools; Fair Oak Elementary, Orchard Park Elementary, and Westminster Elementary.  We strive to empower and inspire our students to positively make a difference in and out of the classroom.

We are proud of our students and their accomplishments and our teachers and staff support and provide encouragement each and every day.  Some of celebrations and successes include National School Beta of Merit, Girls Basketball AOP Division Three Conference Champions, Conference Champions, and 3rd straight season undefeated with a 50-0 record, Girls Volleyball AOP Division Three Conference Runners Up, wrestling finished with 11-4 record, and our Fishing team finished 1st in the state.  Our fine arts programs continue to grow and place in All County and All Region.  We had 1 All Region band finisher, 8 All County, 9 high school marching band students, and 9 Winterguard participants with 1st and 2nd place finishes.  For the third year in a row, our Art students received the grand prize, 1st and 2nd place in the Bullying Prevention Poster Contest.

We have a student leadership team made up of 8th graders.  These students are challenged to create potential solutions for local and global problems.  They are challenged to expand their understanding of the world by understanding their community.

Our FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) is one of the largest groups in all middle and high schools in the upstate of South Carolina.  We meet each Thursday morning in the cafeteria with praise and worship, an encouraging message, and prayer.  Students who participated were challenged to examine themselves and make a difference at West-Oak Middle School and our community.

Our FFA (Future Farmers of America) is growing and making a huge impact in our students and families lives and, in our school, and community.  They continue to take on community service projects, participate in state competitions, and educate students about agriculture and careers in the agriculture world.

Due to COVID, and our regional Special Olympics games being cancelled, we were given the opportunity to host our first Special Olympics this year on campus for our students with disabilities and it was wonderful!  Our student body surrounded them with love and encouragement with a parade and our school band played as we had their opening ceremony.  We will continue to host Special Olympics each year for our students to carry on this SPECIAL tradition.

The administration, teachers, and staff at West-Oak Middle recognize the importance of building, strengthening and sustaining an effective relationship and partnership with families, community, and business stakeholders.  We will continue to be committed to maintaining our relationships and partnerships so everyone will see how our students learn, grow, as we develop lifelong learners.
